“When I was 20 years old I was able to backpack and skateboard around Europe, going as far east as the middle of Turkey and as far north at Gdansk in Poland. During the trip I tried to get to every gallery and museum I could afford to see. Being able to see a lot of the masterpieces of art was amazing but there were particular artists that had a big impact”

20 x 20 show background part 1

The work for the 20X20 show didn’t happen out of nowhere. Randy Laybourne had done a couple pieces that seemed to inspire the way the images went together.
The first was a drawing done in 2003 for Spur magazine, based out of Calgary. The theme of the issue was “rise” and Laybourne incorporated a few things that give rise; like ladders, buildings and escalators.

After years in the making, the 20X20 show is coming to Oceanside, California
Jan 17 to Feb 14, 2009!
Swiv Tackle Circus is hosting the show.
There is also going to be some special events along with the opening.

This show is a benefit for foster kids.. you can bid on one of a kind painted vintage suitcases
“Creative Cases”
is a silent auction fundraiser benefiting foster kids in need of luggage. As you may or may not know, most foster kids are given trash bags to move around with. So we have gathered some vintage luggage and talented artists to paint them, while the money we raise will supply new luggage for the kids! These cases are Funktionally Funky and even better, for a good cause!
You can also participate in
“The Art Creation Station”
This is a creative interactive art experience where participants can create hats, masks, feather peices and whatever they come up with from the supplied craft table! Let your creativity flow and be inspired to create!
